Trim Levels

The entry-level Durango SXT has 18-inch wheels, LED headlights, LED taillights, bright roof rails and crossbars, and heated front seats. The SXT Plus adds a sunroof and more robust safety features. Step up to the GT for 20-inch wheels, a heated flat-bottom steering wheel, and a power liftgate. The GT Plus adds a heated second row to the mix, plus ventilated front-row seats. A couple of trims up is the R/T series of models, which are characterized by their 5.7-liter HEMI V-8 engine, sleek badging, and performance steering. Engine (Power)

Power for the entry-level SXT comes from a 3.6-liter V-6 engine that will get you 295 horsepower. It uses an eight-speed automatic transmission and comes with either rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. Although the 3.6-liter V-6 engine is standard, there are three additional engines offered in the lineup:

• 5.7-liter V-8 gas engine that delivers 360 horsepower
• 6.4-liter V-8 with 475 horsepower
• Supercharged 6.2-liter V-8 engine offering 710 horsepower

Performance

The base V-6 engine has plenty of power for the Durango, but if you want the extra fun you get with more ponies, the 5.7-liter V-8 boosts acceleration and passing power. When equipped with the V-6, the Durango can tow up to 6,200 pounds when properly equipped, and with the 5.7-liter V-8, it can tow up to 7,400 pounds when properly equipped. Get even more with the 6.4-liter or 6.2-liter engine, which both tow up to 8,700 pounds when properly equipped.

Interior

Inside the Durango, there is room for up to seven across three rows. However, some models seat only five. Depending on the model you choose, you can get either 17.2 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear row or 43.3 cubic feet behind the rear row. Features include three-zone automatic climate control and cloth upholstery, with heated front seats and a heated steering wheel. Some models have leather upholstery and add heated second-row seats and power-adjustable front seats, with memory functions for the driver.

Technology in the Durango starts with an 8.4-inch touch screen, a six-speaker stereo, satellite radio, Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™, and USB ports. A 10.1-inch touch screen comes with higher trims, and this also has wireless charging, navigation, and a Wi-Fi hotspot. The R/T comes with a household power outlet.
