If you enjoy adventures that take you off the beaten track, the rugged
2019 Jeep Wrangler is a vehicle that will get you through pretty much any terrain. The Wrangler is renowned for its legendary off-road capability, and it now offers higher levels of comfort and technology to make any journey a pleasure. Here are some of the features that will ignite your passion for adventure.
Exterior Features
The Wrangler's design is unmistakable with its round headlamps that flank the distinctive seven-slot grille, reminiscent of the Willys Jeep of the 1940s. Offered in Sport, Sport S, Sahara, Rubicon, and MOAB trim levels, you can opt for two or four doors, depending on the model, both with a variety of removable roofs available.
To make your adventure a truly open-air experience, you can remove the doors and fold the windshield flat. Sport trim has skid plates, tow hooks, and black fenders, while the Sport S gets 17-inch alloy wheels. The Rubicon is designed specifically for off-roading and features unique styling with a steel front bumper, red tow hooks, all-terrain tires, and a vented hood with power dome.
Sahara trim only comes with the four-door body, and offers 18-inch wheels and color-keyed fenders. MOAB is also only available with four doors and adds LED lighting, unique black trim and fenders, rock rails, and black wheels with off-road tires.
Power and Performance
The base engine is a 285 horsepower 3.6-liter V-6 delivering 260 pound-feet of torque via a six-speed manual or the available eight-speed automatic transmission. You can choose a turbocharged 2.0-liter engine that produces 270 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque exclusively through the eight-speed automatic. With the correct equipment, the Wrangler can tow up to 3,500 pounds.
Awesome Off-Road Ability
The 2019 Wrangler maintains Jeep's reputation for being able to go anywhere your adventure takes you. The Command-Trac AWD system is standard and features "shift-on-the-fly" to switch seamlessly between two-and four-wheel drive.
MOAB models have Selec-Trac, which switches automatically between two- and all-wheel drive as the conditions dictate. On slippery surfaces, the power is sent to the wheels with the most grip.
To get you through the roughest terrain, the Rubicon features Roc-Trac which has a 4-to-1 low gear ratio. Heavy-duty axles, locking front and rear differentials, electronic front sway bar disconnect, and higher ground and fender clearance add to the off-road capability which allows the Rubicon to wear the deserved Trail Rated badge.
Ready for Bad Weather
The Wrangler isn't just a fair-weather vehicle and, when bad weather closes in, you'll be ready. The start button has been weatherproofed for reliability, and all knobs, switches, and buttons are durability tested.
If it gets cold outside, heated door mirrors keep your view clear, while the available heated steering wheel and front seats, and dual-zone climate control keep you cozy. At the end of your adventure, you can just remove the carpets and hose out the interior as the one-way drain valves let the water drain away.
